Audio/Photo update from NBA lockout talks

NEW YORK — The media stakeout in the lobby of the hotel where the NBA labor talks are taking place is boredom at its ultimate level. As of 6 p.m. EDT, the negotiating session was approaching four hours …  and counting.

The Players Association has a room set up with lighting and an NBPA banner, so you can expect a show of unity from them, custom-tailored for photographers and sound-bite lovers. Exactly when that news conference begins will shortly become the subject of a media gambling pool ($1 apiece, a tradition that dates to 1998).

Thankfully, Terry Boers and Dan Bernstein had me on their show this afternoon on 670-TheScore radio in Chicago to help break the monotony.

  1. Meeting again tomorrow is nice to hear. It would be nice if both sides just admitted they’re going to end up at a 50/50 split so we can get on with planning the season.

  2. Looks like what you would set up if you were going to interview and photograph smiling happy faces.

    We shall see

It would really be tacking to have this kind of setting to announce that there would be no full season. But then again Lebron is at today’s meeting LOL
