Curry, who is expecting to sign a contract extension with the team, has yet to do so primarily because he needs to display the health and strength of his ankle during the preseason. What happened on Friday is not going to help his case with management, and it can’t be too good for his psyche either, given all the trouble this particular issue has caused him.
Still, he was clearly injured on a freak incidental contact with Wesley Matthews, although some may argue that Curry’s toe planted wrong before the collision. Either way, he had this to say to his followers about his latest status:
Ankle will be fine. Freak play. But Good win tonight...now on the way to LA.
