DraftStreet Diary: LeBron James or Kevin Durant?

Before we get to the first ‘full’ night of NBA action in 2013, with a dozen games, be sure to join this week’s Sheridan Hoops Freeroll. It’s a 1-day contest (this Friday, January 4) that’s absolutely free to enter and you could win up to $100 cash!

Down $25 so far from the $100 weekly bankroll, I’m ready to get serious this evening and join some $5 Double-Up and Snake leagues in addition to the $2 GPP tournament, where I usually enter three different teams. It’s always difficult to choose between LeBron James and Kevin Durant; tonight I’m leaving both off my teams. They are prohibitively expensive and might be involved in blowout wins, which often means sitting out the fourth quarter.

Going with James Harden at home vs. a tired opponent seems like a solid beginning, and the price is right on David Lee compared to KD and LBJ. Going ‘cheap’ at C lets me use four mid-priced players in the other spots. It could all change (more than once) before the 7:00 deadline but for now, here’s my lineup:

F1 David Lee (GS-F) $16,900
F2 Andrei Kirilenko (MIN-F) $10,587
G1 James Harden (HOU-G) $18,668
G2 DeMar DeRozan (TOR-G) $11,873
C1 Omer Asik (HOU-C) $13,387
C2 Tyler Zeller (CLE-C) $8,757
U1 Carlos Delfino (HOU-G) $10,337
U2 D.J. Augustin (IND-G) $9,475

If you still haven’t tried daily fantasy leagues, click here to join DraftStreet. It’s always free to sign up and they offer leagues with no entry fees to help you learn how to play until you’re ready to make a deposit. Give it a try! At the very least, take a shot at the $300 in cash prizes offered in this Friday’s Freeroll. Who doesn’t like free money?

Today’s Fantasy Spin previews all of Wednesday’s games and examines what happened on Tuesday, when the Clippers finally lost a game.
