NEW YORK — Thou shalt not bump a referee — or else thou shall pay a price.
Rajon Rondo learned that lesson Monday when the NBA suspended him for one game without pay for making contact with a game official and failure to cooperate with a league investigation, it was announced by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.
The incident involving the official occurred with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter of the Celtics’ 89-81 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 6 at Philips Arena.
Rondo will serve his suspension tonight when the Celtics play the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
