Daily fantasy leagues are easy to play, but challenging to win. Just pick the eight players you think will do the best in tonight’s NBA games, without exceeding the $100,000 salary cap. The winner gets $100 cash, and there are 14 other prizes, making the total payout $300, with no strings attached.
See what you’ve been missing in the Sheridan Hoops Freeroll tonight. It’s always free to join DraftStreet and this game is great fun for beginners and ‘experts’ alike.
Last night, I did not expect LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to be so spectacular and was disappointed by Greg Monroe. My teams finished nowhere; an $8 loss leaves me down $33.55 for the week from the $100 bankroll, which resets every Monday. Tonight offers another chance to get even, or even worse.
Please note that the chart below is only for the Freeroll. The salaries were set several days ago, and will be somewhat different from most other Friday leagues.
|Freeroll 15||Jan. 18|
|Starters||$9,000 to $13,000|
These are five suggestions in three different salary ranges, and with nine NBA games, there are countless other players worth considering. I’m building my team around Kevin Durant and two good centers, filling the other spots with possible bargains and hoping for the best.
F1 Kevin Durant (OKC-F) $21,617
F2 Marreese Speights (MEM-F) $8,531
G1 Darren Collison (DAL-G) $11,116
G2 Kyle Lowry (TOR-G) $10,862
C1 Nikola Vucevic (ORL-C) $16,043
C2 Brook Lopez (BKN-C) $13,967
U1 George Hill (IND-G) $9,910
U2 Darrell Arthur (MEM-F) $7,462
Using Marreese Speights and Darrell Arthur makes sense only if Zach Randolph rests his sore back; if word comes that Z-Bo will start, I’ll try something different. You can make unlimited lineup changes until the 7:00 EST deadline.
Although there are dozens of other leagues, in three formats (Pick ‘Em, Snake and Salary Cap) with entry fees ranging from free to $420, everyone reading this should join tonight’s Freeroll, unless you don’t like winning cash with no risk. Good luck!
The Fantasy Spin, published by 9:00 every morning, previews all of tonight’s games in detail and reviews what happened yesterday, when there was NBA action on two continents.
