Most Improved Player Rankings: Week 13

RANK PLAYER RUNDOWN LAST
1 76ers Sixers JRUE HOLIDAY, G, PHILADELPHIA: Holiday torched the sorry Knicks’ backcourt defense Saturday, going for 35 points in a 97-80 thrashing. He has double-digit assists in four of his last six games and has nearly doubled his per-36 assist total from last season (4.8 to 8.4). 1
2 PAUL GEORGE, F, INDIANA: George’s per-36 numbers may not be much different from last season, but he sure passes the eye test. The All-Star forward put up 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the Pacers’ loss to the Nuggets on Monday. He’s been the go-to-guy for Indiana all season long. 2
3 Magic NIKOLA VUCEVIC, C, ORLANDO: The Magic have really been struggling of late, but it’s not because of Vucevic. The Montenegran sensation put up 19 and 14 in a loss to the Raptors on Thursday, 12 and 17 in a loss to the Pistons on Sunday, and 18 and 9 in – you guessed it – a loss to the Nets on Monday. 3
4 Bobcats KEMBA WALKER, G, CHARLOTTE: Moves up a spot after his do-everything performance in a rare win over Minnesota on Saturday. Walker scored 25 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. He also came up with 3 steals and somehow blocked 2 shots in the 102-101 win. 5
5 Hornets GREIVIS VASQUEZ, G, NEW ORLEANS: Still third in the NBA in assists and should move up now that poor Rajon Rondo is out for the season. Vasquez does turn it over a lot and isn’t a very good shooter; witness his putrid 2-for-16 showing Sunday at Memphis. Still, his assists numbers warrant keeping him here. 4

DROPOUTS: None.

FIVE TO WATCH: Evan Turner, G, Philadelphia; Larry Sanders, F, Milwaukee; J.J. Hickson, F, Portland; Nicolas Batum, F, Portland; Ed Davis, F, Toronto.
