The Milwaukee Bucks are 3-1 since J.J. Redick was acquired in a trade with the Orlando Magic, the latest victory coming in overtime Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors, 122-114.
Redick scored 16 points in 35 minutes off the bench, and the Bucks moved within 1 1/2 games of the Boston Celtics for the coveted No. 7 spot in the East. (They have already clinched the season series against the Celtics.)
Redick is averaging 15.0 points for the Bucks in his four games, has not missed a foul shot and has gone 7-for-18 on 3s. He is a member of the Top 5 in our latest Sixth Man rankings, but it’d be hard to see him surpassing Jamal Crawford for the No. 1 spot.
Or would it?
If the Bucks can finish with a flourish and catch Brooklyn or Chicago for the No. 6 spot in the conference, and if Redick is a big part of that,. who knows? As we continually point out in our various Power Rankings, the only votes that matter are the ones that are cast after the 82nd game of the season has been played.
