Serena Williams and Venus Williams have long been recognized as some of the greatest women’s tennis players of all-time, and their abilities were on display during the quarterfinal match of this year’s U.S. Open on Tuesday.
Aside from their individual talents, much of the intrigue of this particular matchup came from the fact that they are siblings (although they have played against each other plenty of times in the past) and where their respective careers are headed.
Serena Williams won the contest 6-2, 1-6, 6-3, much to the delight of the fans who appreciated the special intensity between the two loving rivals. Tennis fans around the NBA were just as supportive of what they witnessed:
