Game of the night features James Harden $10400 and the Rockets, locked in a three-way tie for the final two playoff spots out West, against Pau Gasol $7300 and the desperate Bulls, who will miss the postseason unless they make up two games over their final eight.
Dwight Howard $6600 should double-double and there’s no reason Michael Beasley $4900 won’t stay hot. He finished with the starters in Tuesday’s big win at Cleveland. Though Derrick Rose $5600 (elbow) and Jimmy Butler $7000 (back) may not be 100%, Nikola Mirotic $4900 was brilliant against Indiana.
The Clippers in Oklahoma City would be a terrific matchup, except that Doc Rivers is giving Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Redick the night off. Russell Westbrook $10500 and Kevin Durant $10100 won’t need to play huge minutes against a makeshift lineup. Austin Rivers $3100, Cole Aldrich $3000, Jamal Crawford $4300, Jeff Green $3900 and Wesley Johnson $3100 will all get a boost in DFS value and the Thunder might give their bench extra run. KD and Serge Ibaka $5400 got the whole night off on Tuesday, so perhaps it’s Westbrook’s turn, but there’s no official word yet.
$185,000 NBA Contest Free To New Users
The $185K Sharpshooter is only a $3 buy-in (FREE with your initial deposit at DraftKings) where the top 14,630 finishers (from up to 70,914 teams) win cash. First place earns $12,000. The deadline is 7:00 EDT; join before it fills and you can make lineup changes until each player’s game begins.
Portland hosts Boston in the nightcap. The Blazers have a decent chance to catch Memphis for fifth place and the Celtics could finish anywhere from third to sixth. Damian Lillard $8900 and Isaiah Thomas $7700 set the pace, with an assortment of bargains on both sides if you can predict the hot hands. I’m considering Avery Bradley $5000, Kelly Olynyk $3800, Al-Farouq Aminu $4400 and Ed Davis $4500, among others.
After two unexpected losses, Indiana is battling not only to make the postseason but to avoid Cleveland. Paul George $8500 is reasonably priced, Ian Mahinmi $5200 a bargain. In development mode, the Magic scored 139 points last game but will face a determined defense this time. If Nikola Vucevic $6500 (groin) returns, usage will be affected for almost everyone.
With respect to the late Warren Zevon, those poor, poor, pitiful Pelicans are missing their six best players. Last night in San Antonio, Alexis Ajinca $3700 was their top scorer. Jordan Hamilton $3400 and Toney Douglas $5100 started, while Tim Frazier $4000 and Luke Babbitt $4100 led the second unit. Denver beat the Grizzlies with Will Barton $5300 scoring 25 points — the bench combined for 60 — and if Jusuf Nurkic $4300 (illness) sits out again, Nikola Jokic $5600 and Joffrey Lauvergne $3100 are solid plays.
LeBron James $9800 took Tuesday off and is fresh for tonight, though it’s “only” the Nets, with a bigger game for the Cavs tomorrow in Atlanta. Kyrie Irving $7200 or Kevin Love $7100 could also be rested down the stretch, and garbage time is a strong possibility. Brooklyn might conserve some energy this evening for Friday’s more winnable game against the Knicks.
