Tweet of the Day: LeBron James Busy Day In Social Media

LeBron James has been all over the internet for the past 24-hours.

Thursday night, as he and the Miami Heat hosted the New York Knicks in what became a 26-point home victory, the internet was all abuzz over the carbon-fiber mask he wore to protect his broken nose. The mask drew comparisons to all sorts of popular characters:  Zorro, Hannibal Lector and, of course, Batman.

The mask garnered so much attention that someone started a Twitter account for it. There were tons of creative photoshops [my personal favorite] passed around social media networks and even a t-shirt design.

After the game, Chris Bosh took the mask for a spin, claiming to be Batman—though he looked more like a creepy version of the Phantom of the Opera.

Friday afternoon, after the chatter had died down a little, LeBron got in on the action himself.

Bernucca: Why the Lakers have to trade Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA. Yes, still.

He also is (a) incapable of making an elbow jumper, (b) unreliable at the free-throw line, (c) susceptible to long-term injury, (d) hypersensitive to criticism from teammates and coaches, (e) more interested in becoming the next Bill Murray rather than the next Bill Russell and (f) wondering why no one has handed him the icon status he desperately craves.

But the worst thing Howard is – and unlike the items above, this is a temporary condition – is a square peg in a round hole.
