The Bernucca List – Edition 17

When we first came up with the idea of the Bernucca List – or, rather, stole it from the late, great Spy magazine – we thought it would be a fun and challenging exercise for NBA fans visiting Sheridan Hoops. We believed each weekly list would carry at least a portion of the day for our site.

We expected our readers to eventually come up with the right answer. However, we did not expect them to offer the right answer within minutes of publication, as has often been the case. So a nod of acknowledgement to our readers, whose overall grasp of the NBA and its nuances is excellent.

However, We have finally stumped our readers. Perhaps it was the distraction of the NCAA Tournament, which began in earnest on the same day the list was published. Perhaps the list was a tough one, although I believe we have had much tougher lists.

Whatever the reason, there were no correct answers to last week’s Bernucca List. If you want to take one last crack at it, click here, because the answer is in the next paragraph.

No one was really close to the correct answer, which was “Players since the ABA merger who finished second in scoring but never won a scoring title.”

This week’s list is below. See if you can come up with the common thread among these players. Given last week’s stumper, for the first time we are offering a hint: There is a current player who if he maintains his pace will join this list.

Think you know the answer? Send me a Tweet or drop it in the comments box below.
