ncaaThe first weekend of the NCAA Tournament is pure mayhem; games begin and end simultaneously, buzzers sound from TV’s, iPads, iPhones, and computers, celebrations are loud … and defeat is inevitable for more than three-quarters of the field…

It is not often that we devote serious attention to regular season NCAA games, but this weekend is different. We’ve got Zeller 2.0 plus the sons of former NBA stars Glenn Robinson and Tim Hardaway all on the same court when the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines play the No. 3 Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana.

In an extremely loaded four-team preseason tournament, the Legends Classic in Atlanta tonight will place No. 7 Kansas against No. 14 Michigan State on one side of the bracket while the defending national champion No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats will face the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils.

Although Kentucky escaped its matchup with the Maryland Terrapins on Friday at the Barclays Center, it’s clear that this Kentucky team is a work in progress and will try to find itself as the season progresses.
