Good Westbrook, Bad Westbrook will certainly be the title of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of our time.

The only problem is that Russell Westbrook is the one that’s writing it.

He’s at it again, and while the root of the incident itself is relatively minor, the bigger picture looms large over the Oklahoma City Thunder’s championship quest.

Teams as cohesive and talented as OKC die from internal – not external – wounds, and as long as Westbrook continues to ride like lighting, they will continue to crash like thunder.

Many noteworthy events occur nightly in the NBA, and many NBA fans value sleep. Sometimes, the latter must take precedence over the former, which is why we have added this new daily feature presenting five interesting items from the previous night.

A very quiet Thursday in the NBA saw just four teams in action. Oklahoma City survived a Russell Westbrook meltdown to defeat the shorthanded Grizzlies, while the Mavericks fell to  the Warriors.

Memo to Memphis: Yes, it is devastating that you broke up your “Core Four.” Your mass misery gave us a Tweet of the Day from Mike Conley and Tony Allen.

But guess what?

You won the trade. You just got Tayshaun Prince, who might be the missing ingredient to make y’all a legit championship contender. You also get Ed Davis, who basically replaces tax dump victim Marreese Speights, who was valuable from a depth standpoint.
